Hi there!

My name is Lu and I’m currently an Experience Designer from Melbourne with a background in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design and Service Design.
I’m curious about how design influences human behaviour and driven by empathy to help others and make a positive impact. I’m committed to create meaningful designs that contribute to a better world - for humans, animals and beyond.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new trends and techniques to expand my design skills. Currently, I’m learning Blender to create and animate 3D art which I’m really enjoying the learning process and seeing my progression as I go!

3D Art

I started learning Blender to expand my design skills and explore the depth that 3D art brings to illustrations. One of the biggest challenges has been learning the wide range of tools but I’ve dedicated time and research to better understand these tools and continue up skilling as I go. Overall, I’m enjoying the learning process and expanding my visual illustration skills has been rewarding to see.

Animation

Created as a proposal for the ANZ Plus Website, this animated rocket concept aims to demonstrate the potential of incorporating animations. The goal is to improve user engagement by adding visual interactivity.

Web Character Designs

At Oscer, I created character designs to represent various medical conditions. The challenge was simplifying complex conditions while keeping the tone playful and aligned with Oscer’s brand. I enjoyed refining each design and making medical information more approachable and easy to understand for users.

Pet Apparel

Expanding from pet portraits, I began designing and sewing custom pet bandanas. Learning to sew and exploring materials was challenging, but it was rewarding to see customers’ joy when their pets wore my designs. I loved the creative freedom and bringing fun, unique products to life for others.

Digital Communication Assets

I designed social media posts at Oscer to educate users on our platform's benefits. My focus was ensuring clarity and aligning the visuals with Oscer’s fun brand. Balancing detailed content with simplicity was key to making the information user-friendly and engaging for our audience.

Avatar Creation

This is a mocked up idea from myself, aimed to give ANZ Plus customers the opportunity to create their own personalised avatar profile pictures in the ANZ Plus app. The goal is to empower and make the experience more enjoyable for users to express their individuality.

Pet Portrait Business

During COVID, I started a Pet Portrait business, combining my love for animals and illustrating. I worked closely with customers to capture their pets unique traits, which was both challenging and rewarding to continue iterating and getting to a result their satisfied with. Seeing the value my customers placed on these personalised portraits made felt very rewarding and memorable.
